Constitutional Connection

In the constitution, the fourth ammendment titled Searches and Seizures. This states that 'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized'.

This says that people have the right to be safe inside of their houses, schools etc. against unreasonable searches. Unreasonable can vary from person to person, and in some specific cases, it's really hard to determine what exactly it is. Then, the fourth amendment goes on to say that this sense of security can not be violated and that nobody can issue any Warrants, except if there is probable cause, (which is a reasonable amount of suspicion, supported by cirmcstances that justify a reasonable person's belief that certain facts are probably true) and a place to be searched, or things to be seized, then they have the right to do so. So basically, to sum it all up, in school, you have your privacy, and security, until a reasonable person has some sort of reason to believe that you have in your possession contraband or anything else against school rules, and then they have the right to preform a reasonable search by a house administrator, or somebody else in power.
